It is a great pleasure to have been invited by curator Stephanie Sipei Lu to participate, as part of the spatial design team, in the implementation of the new exhibition at the University Town Campus Art Museum of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts—Seeds Project 2026 Education Programs ‘ Roots, Currents, Storms: Rehearsing a Language to Come’
‘Seeds Project’ is an eco-art education programme jointly initiated by *The Art Journal* and CHANEL. This exhibition brings together the findings of field research conducted by young artists in the Pearl River Delta and other regions, exploring the complex connections between people, the land and the ecological environment.
We made extensive use of recycled industrial wooden pallets and Finnish pine to construct the framework, echoing themes of ecology and sustainability; we connected the 12 groups of exhibited works with a visitor route that mimicked the spread of a root system; and we created an open-plan ‘Seed Library’ and a ‘Seed Cinema’ screening space where visitors could sit on the floor, allowing reading, film viewing and conversation to take place within the wooden structure.
